A new look

The game has been redesigned: new paintings everywhere, screens that open over the map, and fewer things between you and your next order.

The game has a new look. I spent the last days on how it looks and how it feels to play, and almost every screen changed. The rules did not.

One look, all the way through

Everything now follows one design. There is one set of colours, one set of type sizes and one kind of frame, and gold is saved for what matters. The game feels calmer because of it, and it is easier to see what to do next.

Screens open over the map now, so you never lose your place. On a phone a screen rises from the bottom and the map waits under it. On a desktop it opens as a panel beside the map, with your screens in a bar down the left.

New paintings

Every unit and every building has a new painting. Every world shows a painting of its own land, and the main screens open over a quiet painting of their own.

The front page is new too. Each race is shown by its warband around a fire, under new race emblems.

Less in your way

The menu you get when you tap something on the map is simpler, with bigger buttons that are easier to hit.

Every popup works the same way now. What it is about sits at the top, the facts sit in small tiles, and the action you want sits at the bottom. On a phone popups rise from the bottom and you can drag them away.

Reports shows only what matters. On a quiet day there is nothing above your news, and when a city needs you one red line says so. News no longer pops up over the map.

Signing in is one page, and keeping a guest account has a screen of its own, where you can also choose your name.

Thirty days a round. A few decisions a day.
